| Telecommunications Operator

Job Description:
- Screen answer/refer all incoming calls to appropriate area or person.
- Assist supervisor with minor telecommunication projects and telephone testing.
- Assist faculty and staff in placing long distance calls.
- Train student aide employees who serve as alternate operators.
- Update on-line campus directory and information book used to answer customer inquiries.
- Maintain clean office area once a week, posting or filing bulletin board notices.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary.
- Must be able to greet callers and visitors, answering questions. Good listening and customer service skills as well as a clear speaking voice is required.
- One-year experience working on a comparable switchboard is preferred.
Additional Information:
SALARY: $14.69 per hour
HOURS: Monday - Friday, 3:45 pm - 7:00 pm
* Working until 8:00 pm during the two weeks prior to and the first week of the Fall and Spring semesters is required.
SUMMER HOURS: Monday - Thursday, 1:00 p m - 7:00 pm
* Working until 8:00 pm during the two weeks prior to and the first week of the Summer semester is required.
