Job Description:
Under the supervision of the Director of the Business Institute and Professional Education, the Ready to Work coordinator will manage and coordinate ready to work services and programs for Oakton students who have received ITA's and dislocated workers identified through the Workforce Board. Some duties of this position include: - Conducts needs/skills assessments of former/present ITA students enrolled at Oakton
- Coordinates the activities of an Oakton internal team to determine how best to meet these needs/skills deficiencies
- Identifies testing vehicles to be used in assessing PC software competencies and other skill competencies, works with test provider, schedules testing and reviews test results
- Develops programs and activities which address Ready to Work skill deficiencies
- Identifies instructors and schedules Ready to Work programs and activities
- Prepares outreach and recruitment materials to communicate program activities and services
- Provides information, advises and schedules participants to participate in Ready to Work program activities
- Maintains accurate records of participants' testing, assessment and activities
- Prepares quarterly reports detailing activities for the Workforce Board
- Collaborates with the Coordinator of Veterans and Military Personnel and WIA Eligible Student Services in developing and conducting Ready to Work programs and training activities
- Serves as liaison to Enrollment Services, Career Services, Recruitment and Outreach, Learning Center, Testing Center and other Departments and personnel involved in student outreach and achievement
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable skills and abilities can be obtained is required. Some counseling and human resource experience preferable
- The ability to communicate programs and services through group and/or one-on-one presentations
- The ability to concentrate on detailed work and work on multiple projects at one time
- Advanced word processing (Microsoft Word preferred) and intermediate spreadsheet application (Microsoft Excel preferred) skills
- Strong organizational skills.
Additional Information:
SALARY: $42,687 annually
**********This is a TEMPORARY position that is scheduled for August 16, 2010 - June 30, 2011**********
